I read. A lot.
I read so often, so slowly, and so earnestly, that sometimes I need a break from
it. Reading as a writer is a lot of work. But I am addicted to books—they entertain me, take me out of my humdrum life, and inspire my own writing. What am I to do?
Instead of separating myself from literature altogether, I listen to literary podcasts. I also borrow audiobooks from my library (remotely, and with my smartphone—yay, technology!) But there's just something about a juicy short story that's oh-so satisfying.
Short-story podcasts deliver quick and powerful 20-45 minute bursts of inspiration

Pro Tip: When you've listened to enough "LeVar Burton Reads,"you begin to hear his voice in your head as you write. It's like you're hearing your story for the first time...in LeVar's voice! I can't think of a better way to get immediate distance from your work and take notes for your next revision.
